August 2025 Edition

NIC Systems Newsletter

We’re closing out summer with some exciting updates, fresh blogs, and new partnerships. Whether you’re looking for release highlights, practical tips, or partner news, this edition of our newsletter has something for you.

Release Updates

Our August release is live! We always keep an eye on Microsoft’s updates to ensure our apps remain compatible and continue to add value.

  • Production order changes: Microsoft recently introduced handy new functions for reopening production orders and reversing output and consumption. As a result, we updated Allergens, Production Batching, Production Instructions, and Quality Inspections to align with these improvements.
  • Bulk updates for restrictions: Both Purchasing Restrictions and Sales Restrictions now support bulk updates for minimum and maximum quantities, saving you time when managing multiple items.
  • Report upgrades: Continuing the transition from RDLC to Word layouts, two reports in Quality Inspections are now available in Word format.

Webinar

Migrating to Business Central Online

Our CTO, Mike Glue, recently hosted a webinar on migrating to Business Central online. If you’re already using our apps, you’ve made the move but many companies are still on Business Central on-premise or even NAV. This webinar highlights better options for businesses still deciding.

Blogs: Now Live on Our Website

We’ve launched a blog section on the NIC Systems website! It’s packed with practical tips, app deep-dives, and real-world insights into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

We’re also running an 8-week campaign featuring app spotlights, behind-the-scenes stories, and resources to help you get more from Business Central. Check out the first two posts:

Tip of the Month

Upcoming 1099 Changes

For U.S. customers, take note: in Business Central version 27 (October 2025), the legacy 1099 feature will be deprecated. The new 1099 functionality will become the default.

We recommend enabling the new feature in your sandbox now to test it before the October release.
