June 2025 Edition

NIC Systems Newsletter

Welcome to the June edition of the NIC Systems newsletter! This month we’re highlighting an exciting go-live, helpful app updates, and a growing library of online resources. Whether you’re a longtime user or just getting started, there’s something here to help you get even more value out of our apps.

New Time-Saving Features in Your Favorite Apps

We’re always working to improve, and recent updates to several NIC Systems apps reflect feedback from users like you. Check out the release notes for full details, but here are a few highlights:

  • Forecast X Connector
Major improvements make it easier to export your data to ForecastX. Choose the timeframe that fits your forecasting needs—daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. (Requires a full ForecastX license.)
  • Purchasing Restrictions
Setting up restrictions just got simpler. Items can be marked as not subject to restrictions, allowing them to be purchased from any vendor without extra configuration.
  • Sales Restrictions
A new option lets you mark items as universally available to all customers—no need to manually include them in every sales restriction policy.

We appreciate your feedback—it continues to shape the updates we deliver.

Coming Soon

Item Tracked Flushing App

Flushing in Business Central doesn’t support tracked items but NIC Systems’ new Item Tracked Flushing app changes that.

Launching soon, this app lets you automatically flush lot-, serial-, and package-tracked items during production. It adds traceability without slowing things down, helping you:

  • Track exactly which lots or serials were used
  • Stay compliant with industry standards
  • Improve costing and inventory accuracy

Flushing for tracked items, finally built right into your workflow.

Go Live

Happy Howie’s

We’re excited to share that Happy Howie’s is now live on the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in the cloud, powered by NIC Systems apps and implemented by our partner, FoodCloudPlus.

As part of their go-live, Happy Howie’s is now using:

Happy Howie’s lives up to its name with a mission to deliver tail-wagging treats that dogs love. Using simple recipes, high-quality natural ingredients, and slow-cooking methods, they craft flavorful treats that make dogs (and their humans) happy. They also give back by supporting local rescues and shelters—because they truly care about every dog’s story.

We’re proud to support their journey with tools that help make it all happen behind the scenes.

Big Changes at Suzanna’s Kitchen —And NIC Systems Is Part of It

We’re excited to share that our partner FoodCloudPlus has officially kicked off a Business Central upgrade and re-implementation project with Suzanna’s Kitchen and NIC Systems apps will play a key role.

Suzanna’s Kitchen is a long-standing name in the prepared meats sector, offering a wide range of premium products for foodservice customers. With their recent move to a modern, automated facility, they needed a technology partner that could support both their growth and complexity. FoodCloudPlus was selected to lead the implementation and brought NIC Systems apps to the table to enhance Business Central’s out-of-the-box capabilities.

Several of our apps will support critical functions in their day-to-day operations, and we’re proud to see them in use at such a well-established and forward-looking company. This is another great example of how NIC Systems apps can support manufacturers and food producers through strong implementation partnerships.

Congrats to the teams at FoodCloudPlus and Suzanna’s Kitchen!

Online Help All in One Place

All NIC Systems app documentation is now available in our new online help site! The final piece to make the move was Treasury Management—one of the very first NIC Systems apps and still one of the most downloaded.

Treasury Management helps you import Banking Administration Institute (BAI) files and process them to create bank account reconciliations, simplifying a key financial task.

Be sure to bookmark the help site for easy access to documentation on all apps.
